IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde is not satisfied with fight against corruption in Ukraine.
The International Monetary Fund can hardly continue cooperation with Ukraine on the extended financial facility (EFF) program without appropriate fight with corruption, said IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, Correpondent.net reports.
“I am concerned with that slow progress, which Ukraine demonstrates in improvement of state administration, fight against corruption and reduction of influence of vested interests on politics. It is difficult to imagine that IMF-supported program will continue and will be successful”, - as it is said in the statement of the IMF Director, published on Wednesday, February 10.
She added that Ukraine risks to return to practice of unsuccessful economic steps, which are enough in its history.
“It is vitally important that currently the actions of Ukrainian leaders returned country to the promising way of reforms”.
As it was previously reported, the key issues of development strategy of state banks will be stipulated in the new memorandum of cooperation of Ukraine with the International Monetary Fund.
