There is not a majority in the Rada.
Groisman informed about Samopomich’s documents on withdrawal of the faction from coalition.
At the morning session, on February 19, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Groisman announced about the withdrawal of Samopomich faction from coalition. Thus, the parliamentarian coalition “European Ukraine” officially does not exist, Correspondent.net reports.
The members of the deputy faction submitted applications on revocation of their signatures, affixed to coalition agreement. “There is a signature of the leader of the faction and copies of personal signatures of all members of the faction”, the speaker noted.
Yesterday Groisman also announced about the withdrawal of faction “Batkivshchyna” from parliamentarian coalition.
Groisman also expressed regret in connection with the rupture of coalition and noted that consultations on handling current situation will be continuing.
226 deputies are needed for formation of the majority in the Verkhovna Rada. If within a month from the legal rupture of coalition the new majority is not formed, the president gets the right of dissolution of the parliament.
The coalition “European Ukraine” was created in the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation on November 27, 2014. Until September 1, 2015, it had 302 deputies, and then – 281 deputies. On September 1, 2015, the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko withdrew from coalition.
