The state officials should be honest, polite and politically neutral.
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted the resolution on the introduction of rules for ethical conduct of public officials, Correspondent.net reports.
The relevant decision was taken to restore public confidence to activities of public bodies and state officials.
The model, which was introduced in Poland for ensuring maximum transparency of activities of public bodies, was taken as the basis for the act.
“The adoption of the act introduces the unified mandatory requirements to the standards of ethical conduct, decency in activities of public officials as well as facilitates prevention of pressure from entrepreneurship or political forces on public officials”, - the document says.
According to the document, public officials should serve the state and society, behave appropriately and be politically neutral.
The document also provides the honest service and loyalty to the state, serving the state interests, the respect to dignity of other individuals, politeness and observance of high culture of communication, benevolence and prevention of conflict situations with citizens.
Public officials bear disciplinary responsibility for the violation of specified rules.
It should be reminded that the Chairman of the Parliament Vladimir Groisman required to introduce the rules of conduct in the Rada, and suggested that deputies should demonstrate “the European models of conduct”.
