On February 26, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has transferred 78.3% of shares of the energy generating company “Centenergo” to the Property Fund for further privatization, the fund’s press-service reported in UNIAN’s comments.
“We were transferred Centrenergo shares. On Friday night, they were received at securities account. Today (February 29) we have already seen them”, the press-service says.
On February 18, during the government meeting Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk reportedly assigned the Ministry of Energy to promptly transfer the shares of the company “Centenergo” to the management of Property Fund for their further privatization.
Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchyshyn confirmed the readiness to transfer company shares to SPFU as well as expressed confidence that the current management of state company will win in the announced human resources competition.
PJSC “Centenergo” is one of the leading manufacturers of electricity in Ukraine.
The company has three thermal electric power stations – Uglegorska, Zmievska and Tripolska, their aggregate installed design capacity is 7665 MWt – 14% of the generating capacity of Ukraine.
“Centrenergo” supplies electricity to Kyiv, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
