Poroshenko and Juncker have agreed further steps for implementation of EU visa-free regime for Ukrainians.
The adoption of visa-free laws will allow Ukraine to integrate into EU in several years, President of European Commission says, Correpondent.net reports.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with President of European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, the President’s press-service reports.
During the conversation the interlocutors agreed further steps for implementation by the European Union of the visa-free regime for Ukrainians.
In particular, the interlocutors agreed amendments to Ukrainian legislation on electronic declaration and acclaimed reaching the compromise in negotiations of Ukraine and the European Commission on the introduction of these amendments.
“J.C. Juncker expressed hope on the positive decision of the Verkhovna Rada regarding the legislative regulation of the question of electronic declaration in accordance with EU standards, which will become the significant step forward in realization of the anti-corruption policy and will allow Ukraine to integrate into the European Union”, the message says.
Previously Press Secretary of EU Mission in Ukraine David Stulik stated that the representative of the European Union together with Ukrainian politicians reached compromise regarding the adoption of laws, necessary for visa liberalization of Ukraine with EU.
It should be reminded that on March 3 Juncker stated that Ukraine will not become EU or NATO member within 20-25 years.
