The Cabinet of Ministers plans to start trading with public agricultural lands since 2017, to permit Ukrainians to trade with private agricultural lands since 2019, EP reports. It is said in the Government Action Program for 2016, published on the site of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to government’s plan, the purpose of this event is the creation of preconditions for opening the complete market of lands after the termination of validity of moratorium for sale of agricultural lands.
The government plans to develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers the draft law on commerce in agricultural lands on implementation of sale of state-owned agricultural lands on the first stage (since January 1, 2017), opening for sale of lands by citizens on the second stage (since January 1, 2019).
According to the plan, this should “create the complete land market, which will allow the owners to dispose of their properties and will facilitate business development and attraction of investments”.
As it was reported, on November 10 the Verkhovna Rada prolonged the moratorium for sale of agricultural lands until January 1, 2017.
