Vice Prime Minister Pavel Rosenko has offered the citizens of the rural area to think about the refusal from gas, UNIAN reports.
“For citizens of the rural area it is a good energy saving. Yes, this is a radical step… but we need to think about the refusal from gas consumption”, Vice Prime Minister said.
He noted that the gas price in Ukraine will not decrease, that’s why it is necessary to search for cheaper alternatives.
As it is known, from May 1 the government has established the single gas price for population – 6.88 UAH/cub.m. (UAH 6879 ths for 1 ths cub.m.), equal to the purchase value of imported natural gas.
After the adoption of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on gas price on April 27, the first Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and the Minister of Energy and Coal Mining Ihor Nasalik noted that setting such price will put a period to speculations on the gas market of the country.
Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman emphasized that this decision is not simple and will raise broad discussions in the society, but it will allow cancelling all previously existing schemes, which allowed earning on the fuel price difference.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called this decision of the Cabinet of Ministers a serious anti-corruption step.
