The project is realized within the decentralization, Hubs reports.
The Canadian specialists plan to develop the strategy of development of Zaporizhzhia and the region, as it was told to the journalists at the press-conference, dedicated to the presentation of the international technical assistance project “Partnership for city development” (PROMIS).
According to the Regional Coordinator of the PROMIS project in Zaporizhzhia Region Svetlana Krugliak, the Canadians have established the cooperation with four regions of Ukraine – Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Poltava. Namely these regions were selected for further cooperation.
First of all, the project managers provide technical assistance to Zaporizhzhia citizens in writing and development of the city and region development strategy within decentralization.
“We assume three components of our assistance – implementation of open democratic management, support of small and medium business as well as development of cooperation between other branches of power in Zaporizhzhia region”, the program coordinator noted.
The project developers promise that the stated priorities in development of Zaporizhzhia – tourism, ecology, municipal energy plan, IT business will not remain only on paper. For this, the concrete steps, which will be financed by the government of Canada, will be taken.
“We will hold a contest for projects in the sphere of management. It is most likely that this will refer to centers of administrative services. The separate competition on business projects is also planned. I emphasize that namely those projects, which are actual for city development, will be selected”, Svitlana Krugliak noted.
It should be noted that PROMIS is intended for 5 years, until 2020.
