Ukraine intends to purchase gas at $160-180 per thousand cubic meters, Correspondent.net reports.
Ukraine expects to purchase imported gas in 2016 at average price of $160-180 per thousand cubic meters, President Petro Poroshenko said during the meeting of the National Board of Reforms, the presidential press-office reports.
In his opinion, this should be facilitated by diversification of supply sources as well as global trends at oil and oil product market.
“The diversification of energy saving routes, the appearance of competitive sources along with the decrease of global oil and gas prices led to the decrease of gas price from $337 in the first quarter of 2015 to 227$ in the fourth, and this year we are talking about the price of $160-180 for 1 ths cubic meters”, Poroshenko said.
According to him, if in 2013 Ukraine received 92% of imported gas from Russia, then in 2014 this indicator decreased to 74%. As per results of previous year it made up 37% with decreasing trend. The President noted that this year this percent reached zero.
Previously Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev stated that Ukraine continues negotiations with Gazprom on terms of gas purchase and is ready to renew it in the third quarter at prices, which would be lower than prices of imported gas from Europe.
