The joint meeting of Vice-Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko, Minister of Education and Science Lilia Hrynevych and Deputy Minister of Finance Serhei Marchenko with representatives of the scientific community, among which Chairman of Trade Union of the NAS of Ukraine Anatolii Shyrokov, First Vice President of the NAMS Yurii Kundiev and others were present, took place on June 15, 2016. The meeting was dedicated to existing problems of scientific institutions and search for possible solutions of the current situation.

The Ministry of Finance cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science, the leaders of scientific institutions, the representatives of trade unions of the NAS and public organizations with the purpose of development of general strategy of reforming the scientific sphere, to promote modernization of the system of financing the science.

The Ministry of Finance supports the position on the necessity of including to the budget of expenditures for science in sufficient volumes, which will facilitate development of the scientific sphere of our country. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Science jointly with the NAS of Ukraine will work on the development of proposals on enhancing effectiveness of activities of scientific institutions with determination of effectiveness of their activities. The high priority measures on enhancing effectiveness is the determination of real scientific potential of institutions, for avoidance of duplication in conducting of scientific researches, conducting international audit of scientific system and state attestation of scientific institutions.

The further steps in direction of search for ways of solving the issues of financing national science will initiate round tables with participation of scientists, the representatives of state authorities and the public.
