The World Bank will help Ukraine develop the strategy of development of transport corridors and motorways, Correspondent.net reports.
Prime-Minister Volodymyr Hroisman told about the readiness of the World Bank to allocate additional $1 billion for funding programs in Ukraine, he wrote in his Facebook after the meeting with World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Washington.
“We have good news. The World Bank is ready to jointly reconsider effectiveness of the programs, for which the funding is envisaged, and provide additional billion for their extension next year”, he wrote.
The Head of Government described the meeting with Indrawati as “very constructive”.
“We have agreed that the World Bank will help us develop the strategy of development of transport corridors and motorways for Ukraine as well as to evaluate resources, necessary for its realization, and to determine, where it is necessary to attract budgetary, loan and private resources. We never had such strategy, and its realization may become one of the mechanisms of our economic revival”, the Prime Minister said.
According to Correspondent.net, previously WB stated that the Ukrainian economy passed its recession peak and returned to positive dynamics in 2016.
