The clients of the conversion center were 400 structures from Kyiv and Kyiv region, including state enterprises.
The officials of the State Security Service of Ukraine jointly with the State Service for Financial Monitoring and Police prevented in Kyiv the activities of the conversion center, which shadowed more than UAH 1 billion during 2014-2016, RBC-Ukraine reports.
The organizers reportedly provided services on the conversion of funds to cash and the artificial creation of tax loan for VAT refund. As it has been established by security service officials, the clients of the conversion center were 400 business structures from Kyiv and Kyiv region, among which there are several state enterprises.
“During the multi-move special operation the law enforcement officers apprehended two organizers of the conversion center at the gas station on the skirts of Kyiv. More than UAH 1.3 million, intended for another client, were seized from them. Then the security service officials apprehended the courier in the center of Kyiv, while he was transferring UAH 260 ths to the Client”, according to the message.
In addition, during searches in offices and cars, belonging to the conversion center, the law enforcement officers seized more than UAH 2 billion, USD 10 ths, bank cards, four laptops with online banking system, USB flash drives, mobile phones with evidence of conducting illegal financial transactions.
“The seals of almost 20 fictitious firms, involved in activities of the conversion center, and firearms were also found in offices. Several dozens of bank accounts, opened by the organizers of the conversion center, were blocked”, according to the service.
The criminal proceeding in terms of part 5 of article 191 and part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code has been initiated. The urgent operative investigative actions are continuing.
It should be reminded that in Dnipropetrovsk region the law enforcement officers established the organizers of the conversion center as well as the enterprises, which used its service and through which millions of funds were laundered.
