The European Commission will support fighting against corruption, Correspondent.net reports.
The European Commission will soon adopt the program on fighting against corruption in Ukraine, for which it will allocate 50 mln euros, EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Khan said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Within the next few days the European Commission will adopt the program, which concerns the support of fighting against corruption in Ukraine. This will concern all authorities, which ensure fighting against corruption, parliament and society and media. It refers to 50 mln euros”, Khan said.
He noted that it is very important that Ukraine shows concrete results in fighting against corruption in justice system, in reforming the public prosecution office “in order to respond to expectations of Ukrainian society and open the way for further EU support”.
“Regarding reforms, Ukraine demonstrates very good results. Now we should show… the reliable history of actions. We need to show that Ukraine really fights against corruption”, the European Commissioner said.
It should be noted that fighting with corruption is one of the main requirements of Western partners of Kyiv.
