President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, the press-office of the official website of the President of Ukraine reports.
The President noted that the positive dynamics of implementation of reforms only corroborates the commitment and readiness of Ukraine to move towards changes, in spite of external challenges.
He emphasized that the liberalization of visa regime and completion of process of coming into force of EU Association Agreement will become not only the recognition of results, achieved by Ukraine, but also the success story of the European Union itself and the feedback to European sceptic sentiments.
The European Commissioner assured that the European Union will further support Ukraine with all possible means on its way to implementation of internal reforms.
During this meeting the special attention was focused on the situation with security on Donbass and the fulfilment of Minsk agreements.
It was confirmed that for the effective promotion of political peacemaking process on the Donbass the fundamental premise is the full ceasefire by Russian militants and performance of other Minsk security components.
J. Hahn confirmed the permanence of EU policy regarding the non-recognition of occupation of the Crimea by the Russian Federation.
