Trudeau has spoken out for activation of work of Canadian investors in Ukraine, Correspondent.net reports.

On Monday, July 11, Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Canada Volodymyr Hroisman and Justin Trudeau had an informal meeting with representatives of business circles of both countries, the press-office of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

Hroisman expressed hope that Ukraine and Canada will always be strategic partners. “I believe that Ukraine and Canada will open new opportunities of economic and trade cooperation and will always be strategic partners, who trust each other, support and treat each other with understanding”, he said.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister emphasized the importance of consecutive support of the country by Canada during its difficult period and thanked Trudeau for Canada’s firm position regarding the support of Ukraine’s sovereignty on international arena and in promotion of reforms.

“Ukraine and Canada have significant potential in development of cooperation, in particular, in the sphere of economy. The important step in unification of countries was taken after signing the Free Trade Area Agreement between Ukraine and Canada”, Hroisman said.

He noted that Trudeau’s visit testifies about the special attitude of Canada to Ukraine. “We highly appreciate it and will do our best in order our relations are successful, so we really build joint beautiful democratic future”, Hroiman emphasized.

In his turn, Trudeau expressed support to Ukraine on its way to reforms and responding to new challenges. “Ukraine met huge challenges, but we are still expecting for the economic growth”, the Canadian Prime Minister said.

“This burden is not only for Ukraine, but for the whole world. We should make every effort to rectify the situation. Canada will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine”, he said.

Trudeau also spoke out for activation of work of Canadian investors in Ukraine and Ukrainian investors in Canada.
