The party considers that the former people’s deputy gave false testimony against Olexander Efremov, Correspondent.net reports.

The party “Oppositional Block” demands to initiate criminal proceeding against the former people’s deputy from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Landyk for giving testimonies against his former colleague Olexander Efremov.

“The apprehension of the former people’s deputy of Ukraine Alexander Efremov on a charge with actions, qualified as the threat to security and territorial integrity of Ukraine, is initially fabricated and has the nature of deliberate provocation against the representatives of opposition…Today the case against Oleksandr Efremov is based on giving the testimony of one person – former people’s deputy Volodymyr Landyk, the person, who feels the personal animosity against Efremov”, - as it is said in the Oppositional Block’s statement.

The party considers that for obtaining testimonies against Efremov the authorities exonerated the Landyk’s son, condemned in 2012 for violent actions towards the woman.

“In acknowledgment of it Landyk gave necessary testimonies against Efremov. And it testifies about the biased investigation and the frame-up nature of the case”, as it is indicated in the party’s statement.

It should be reminded that in the morning, July 30, Efremov was apprehended in Borispol airport. The ex-regional is suspected of violation of territorial integrity, in particular, involvement in creation of LPR.

According to the general prosecutor, Yurii Lutsenko, Efremov planned to escape in order to avoid criminal prosecution.
