The non-profit-making organization “Transparency International Ukraine” supports the decision to give the corruption exposer 10% from the amount, stolen by the corrupt official and returned to the state, as it is said in the organization’s message, Economic Truth reports.
“The corruption exposer should obtain 10% from funds, which were stolen by the corrupt official and returned to the state thanks to his messages. In addition, the law enforcement officers should provide the informer with reliable protection during the pretrial proceeding”, the organization reports.
Transparency International reportedly supports the draft law №4038 “On Protection of Exposers and Information Disclosure on Harm or Threat to Public Interests”, registered in the Verkhovna Rada on July 20.
The wording of the draft law is currently on the Verkhovna Rada’s official site.
According to the organization, the adoption of the draft law will allow legalizing tools for participation of the exposer in the fight against corruption and stimulate ordinary people to inform law enforcement officers about it.
The experts forecast a complicated procedure of consideration of the document in the Rada and resistance to its adoption.
