Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC intends to demand from Gazrpom (Russia) the refund of VAT, which, according to the Tax Code, since January 1, 2016, started being imposed on the transactions for provisions of services to Russian company on the natural gas transit through the territory of Ukraine, as it is said in NAC message, attached to the financial statement for the 1st half of year of 2016, the Economic Truth reports.
“Since January 1, 2016, according to the Tax Code, VAT is imposed on gas transit transactions for Gazprom. The VAT amount relates to costs, because it is not reimbursed by the buyer. “Naftogaz” expects that VAT amounts will be reimbursed by “Gazprom” after acceptance of the relevant decision by Stockholm arbitrage”, the message says.
In the 1 half of year Naftogaz paid VAT for provision of transit services for the amount of UAH 5.5 bln.
It should be reminded that as per results of the first half of 2016 Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC received UAH 21.8 bln of net profit.
