In violation of the contract, Ukraine will fulfill the request in full.
On September 5, Gazprom sent Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC the request for gas transit to Europe, increased by 20%, the press-office of the Ukrainian company reported.
“The claimed transit volume is 282 mln cubic meters per 24 hours. The level of increasing the request exceeds several times the level, stipulated by the contract between Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC and Gazprom. In spite of it, Ukraine will fulfill the request in full”, according to the message.
As per the information, available to Naftogaz, the sudden increase of request is connected with maintenance shutdown of OPAL pipeline, which unites the Northern Flow gas pipeline with gas transportation systems of Germany and Central European countries.
Naftogaz emphasizes that in Pysarevka, the interconnection point of gas transportation systems, the second largest gas delivery from RF, the pressure is 67.4 atm, which is by 2.6 atm lower than the contractual level. Meanwhile, it is reported that Gazprom ensured the contractual pressure level in Sudzha interconnection point.
NJSC reminds that in 2014 Gazprom unilaterally refused from balancing services of Ukrtransgas, which regulated the relationships of parties in such cases.
“The fulfillment of today’s request is a good will of the Ukrainian party, as the bona fide gas transiter and reliable EU partner”, Naftogaz emphasizes.
