On October 7, the Lion Appellate Court denied to release Former Owner of BTA Bank Mukhtar Abliazov on bail, Ilyashev and Partners Law Firm, representing BTA Bank, informed, The Economic Truth reports.
As it is reported, Abliazov expects extradition to Russia and Ukraine on the charge of financial fraud and embezzlement of more than 6 billion and is currently in the French prison.
As it is known, the former head of BTA Bank (Kazakhstan) was arrested in London on January 8, 2015.
Solodchenko as well as the former owner of BTA Bank Mukhtar Abliazov and other members of the organized crime group are charged with inflicting damages to bank institutions, totaling more than USD 6 billion.
The Abliazov’s activity and his associates was also the subject of criminal investigation of law enforcement of Kazakhstan, Russia, Hungary, Latvia and some other countries.
Previously the English courts already satisfied BTA claims against Abliazov and his accomplices for the total amount of more than USD 4 billion.
