Representative of US presidential candidate Donald Trump election campaign Bob Ehrlich promised strong support to Ukraine in case of the victory of the Republican at US presidential elections, RT reports.
As TASS reports, while delivering the speech at the conference, dedicated to US-Ukrainian relationships, Ehrlich encouraged US citizens of Ukrainian origin to vote for Trump. The Republican representative emphasized that Trump pushes for “maintenance of peace from the position of force”.
According to Ehrlich, if Trump wins the elections, its administration will provide “strong support” to Ukraine. In reply to the question of conference participants, if it means the supply of US weapon to Kyiv, on which Republican Politician Newt Gingrich spoke, Ehrlich said that we need to listen to Gingrich’s statements, because he will play an “important role”, if Trump becomes the president.
Meanwhile, Ehrlich noted that the “positive working relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin can be useful for everybody”, however he emphasized that this point of view is underpinned not by preference, but by pragmatic reasons.
During his speech, Ehrlich also criticized the Democratic administration of US Incumbent President Barak Obama, blaming him that his weakness “disrupted US prestige worldwide”.
In August, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence that whichever party comes to power in the USA after presidential elections in autumn 2016, Kyiv will receive support from both of them.
