The country’s government submitted the draft law to the parliament, necessary for ratification of the Agreement – Correspondent.net reports.
The Canada’s government submitted the draft law on implementation of the Free Trade Area Agreement with Ukraine to the federal parliament, Ukrinform reports.
“This agreement serves as one more proof of Canada’s support of independence, sovereignty and economic growth of Ukraine… This transaction will give an impetus to our economies, speed up innovations and strengthen the representatives of the middle class and those, who seek to join it”, Minister of International Trade of Canada Chrystia Freeland said.
The Ministry of International Trade added that Canada intends to ratify free trade with Ukraine as soon as possible: “Canada is resolutely determined to cooperate with Ukraine’s people for assistance in implementation of important economic and democratic reforms and strengthening business links between two countries”.
The free trade agreement between Ukraine and Canada was signed on July 11, 2016, during the visit of Justin Trudeau to Kyiv. After its ratification, Canada will cancel all duties on 99.9% of Ukrainian export and Ukraine – for 86%.
