France supports the provision of visa-free regime to Ukraine, Ambassador of France to Ukraine Isabelle Dupont said, RBC-Ukraine reports.
In addition, the diplomat claimed that this position was officially approved by the country’s government.
“The position of France on this matter is absolutely clear… The purpose of France is the provision of visa-free regime for Ukraine”, Dupont said.
According to the Ambassador, the discussions, conducted in Brussels, due to which it is delayed, do not concern the votes “for” or “against” the provision of visa-free regime to Ukraine. They concern the mechanism of suspension of visa-free regimes, the compliance schedule of such decision.
“EU wants to be certain that if the provision of visa-free regimes leads to occurrence of new problems with security or migration risks, it will have the response to these risks”, Dupont noted.
As Correspondent.net reported, EU will discuss the visa-free regime with Ukraine on November 17.
