Volodymyr Groisman stated that the decisions on the rehabilitation of energy sector led to formation of the full-fledged energy market.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman noted that, in Ukraine, the full-fledged energy market started being shaped, he informed in Facebook.

In October, French company Engie signed the agreement with Ukrtransgas about the gas storage in Ukrainian storage facilities. Trading SA (Switzerland) and TrailStone Energy LLC also concluded agreements with Ukraine. 

“Until recently, it was even impossible to hope for it, and today the full-fledged energy market starts being shaped in Ukraine. The market is the competition, including competitive prices for consumers. The formation of the full-fledged energy market, the growth of volumes of own gas production, the implementation of energy efficiency, the increase of proceeds from public companies to the budget are the consequences of those decision on rehabilitation of the energy sector, which we take”, Groisman noted.

“When we are criticized for the fact that today 6.5-7 mln households will obtain subsidies, then I would like to respond – not the new prices made Ukrainians poor. The multi-year schemes of laundering public funds to the pockets of oligarchs, who hid behind the allegedly cheap gas, made our country poor. Today, we break these schemes despite the stiff resistance from those, who are involved in their creation. And such news, which we receive now, acknowledge that the situation is changing and every day these changes will be more and more noticeable”, the Prime Minister emphasized.
