Naftogaz can buy the Russian gas subject to the attractive price quotation, cancellation of ToP rule and no gas supplies to the occupied territories of Donbass, Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev said, Interfax-Ukraine report.

Kobolev reiterated the position of Ukraine, according to which, except for the attractive price quotation, Gazprom should sign the supplementary agreement for cancellation of ToP rule for the gas purchase period, for obtaining gas according to advance payment, made by NJSC.

In addition, according to him, the document should clearly stipulate the terms of gas delivery to the territory of Ukraine for avoidance of its delivery to the uncontrolled territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

“Settling all these issues we will be able to purchase gas from Gazprom. There is no politics in this question, there are law and commerce. The only politics is the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which obligates us to purchase from Gazprom not less than 50% of gas during the year”, Kobolev said.

“It is always interesting for us to have the wide circle of suppliers. If Gazprom, it knows what we want from it, agrees to accept these terms at the meeting, then it is probable that we will sign the supplementary agreement and consider the purchase from them”, NSJC Chairman added.

Previously Naftogaz acknowledged the readiness to conduct trilateral negotiations on gas issues with the representatives of Russia and the European Union on Friday, December 9.

As reported, during the trilateral meeting it was planned to discuss the issues of gas transit through Ukraine and the terms of gas purchase from Gazprom.

It should be reminded that Ukraine does not import gas from the Russian Federation.
