The state guarantees the uninterruptible functioning of PrivatBank and the safekeeping of funds, Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv said at the press conference in Brussels.
He noted that the government supported the proposals of the National Bank about passing of PrivatBank PJSC into 100% public ownership, and this decision was endorsed by international financial institutions.
“The state guarantees the uninterruptible functioning of this institution and the safekeeping of the funds of clients”, Kubiv said.
He noted that the cards and ATMs are fully operating. According to his data, as of Friday night, the bank had 7.5 bln of cash funds.
Kubiv also added that each physical person, the depositor of PrivatBank, has the state guaranteed 100% refund. Concerning the legal entities, the transitional period on legal entities will be determined within 1 day.
As reported, on December 18, the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine endorsed the nationalization of PrivatBank.
