US Vice President and President of Ukraine also expressed concern in regards to the recent spate of violence on Donbass – Voice of America reports.
During the phone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, US Vice President Joseph Biden highly appreciated the decisive actions of the National Bank of Ukraine on strengthening the banking sector of the country and protection of Ukrainian depositors through nationalization of PrivatBank.
The White House reported that the Vice President “expressed full support to the leading role of President Poroshenko in strengthening of the financial stability of the country”.
The While House’s statement says that President Poroshenko acknowledged their close cooperation with the International Monetary Fund amid the continuing nationalization and Kyiv efforts to achieve remaining target indicators in compliance with IMF program for Ukraine.
Biden and Poroshenko “expressed serious concern in regards to the recent spate of violence, committed by joint forces of Russia and separatists from Donbass, as well as expressed condolence in regards to recent death of five Ukrainian soldiers near Svetlodarsk”, according to the statement.
“The leaders declared about their continued support of the full-scale implementation of Minsk agreements”, according to the message of the White House.
