The experts of the Department of the Cyberpolice of Ukraine found a new banking malware, stealing data of users of the devices running Android operating system, as it is said on the official website of the Department, RBC-Ukraine reports.
This virus extends over the territory of Ukraine as well as Belarus and other CIS countries.
“It should be noted that this malware spreads over very quickly and, currently, the number of infected devices has more than 500 ths, and, according to the specialists, each day their number increases by around 30-40 thousand”, according to the cyberpolice.
The virus spreads over, disguising itself as popular applications, such as VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Pokemon Go, Telegram and others. The embedded code decodes the file, added by intruders in program resources, and launches it. Then, the launched file downloads the main part of malicious code from the controlling server, which, in its turn, contains download links of several other malicious files.
As the result, the criminals will receive all what they need for stealing victim’s money. In particular, they can obtain access to bases of these browsers, which contain information about saved logins and passwords, browsing history, cookie files and even the saved data of bank cards.
