Raising the minimum salary does not affect hryvnia rate fluctuations, because the raised salaries will be paid in February, according to the Economic Truth, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said during the communication with journalists.
“I would suggest that the politicians and experts, claiming that the minimum salary already affected the hryvnia rate, should look in the mirror. We did not pay the minimum salary in January. It will be paid in February. It could not have affected the currency rate. Do not create panic. We need to live and give people a normal salary”, the Prime Minister said.
Groisman considers that the fall in hryvnia rate is connected with the business decline during holidays as well as seasonal currency rate fluctuations.
The Prime Minister emphasized that raising the minimum salary did not affect the currency rate, because the first wages were not paid yet, taking into account a new minimum salary.
