On January 26, the Management Board of the National Bank of Ukraine passed the decision on declaring Fortuna-bank insolvent, according to Interfax-Ukraine materials.

«The capital increase measures, undertaken by Fortuna-bank management and the owner of the major shareholding, were insufficient for providing the positive value of the regulatory capital as of January 1, 2017», - as it is said in the regulator’s message on Friday.

The National Bank specifies that 91% (2.167 people) of all bank depositors will obtain their deposits in full, as their amount does not exceed the amount of UAH 200 ths, guaranteed by the Individuals’ Deposit Insurance Fund. In total, NBU assesses IDIF payments at UAH 96 mln.

According to NBU data, as of October 1, 2016, Fortuna-bank ranked the 38th in terms of the volume of assets among 100 then operating Ukrainian banks (UAH 2.507 bln).

According to NBU data, Motrona Tyshchenko is its main owner with the package of 99.637%.

The regulator notes that as per the results of the diagnostic research of Fortuna-Bank, conducted in the first half of 2016, in July, the necessary amount of its capital increase was approved, as all the banks of the second twenty in terms of the volume of assets should ensure the positive value of the regulatory capital as of January 1, 2017.

According to the message, the financial institution submitted the restructuring plan, stipulating the fulfillment of certain capital increase measures, to NBU, and within 2016, the management and the owner undertook measures for fulfilment of capital increase requirements, in particular, through repayment of loans of the borrowers – associated persons, directing funds of the subordinated debt to the main capital of the bank, however they appeared to be insufficient.
