The Cabinet of Ministers suggests allocating funds, which may be released from restructuring government bonds, conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance for construction of roads, Finance.ua reports. As reported in the press office of the government, the relevant agreements were reached during the government meeting with participation of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman, NBU Governor Valeari Gontareva and the senior executive of state holdings.

In particular, during the session, Prime Minister noted that the government bond restructuring will allow saving about UAH 15 billion, which may be allocated as the additional financing for roads.

According to his opinion, it will allow increasing the road works budget 2.5 times versus 2016.

Meanwhile, Groisman emphasized that the President – Petro Poroshenko – fully shares this suggestion, as the road construction is one of key priorities.

“The estimated amount, including re-profiling resource, will be about UAH 35 bln, - the Groisman’s press office quotes. – This is the serious volume for the country. The main thing is logistics”.

He reminded that today there are three key sources for financing all road works – state budget, the funds of international financial organizations and internal sources.

“The system is ready to a large-scale construction of roads, the design documentation was prepared, and the equipment and materials have been prepared. The road issue has high importance. The connection of trade corridors with sea ports will allow playing the significant role in transportation of the goods”, the Prime Minister said.
