The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine will be able to meet EU entry standards within ten years, Correspondent reports.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman said during the conference in Brussels that Ukrainians will feel the results of reforms this year, and in ten years, if it works hard, Ukraine will be able to meet the criteria, necessary for EU membership.
“If there are skeptical opinions that the reforms in Ukraine are not implemented, I would not say so. We just do not still feel results of these reforms, and I can agree with that. But I understand that in 2017 we will manage to guarantee and accelerate the economic growth, and each Ukrainian citizen will feel what and why happened, and how his life starts to change”, Groisman promised.
Replying to the question regarding the future EU membership of Ukraine, Groisman emphasized that the Ukrainian society and Ukraine found their position in this question.
“We head for European integration. There is the EU Association Agreement – it is the road map of transformation, which happens in Ukraine. No doubt, we see that one day we will submit the application of EU membership, but we understand that we need to do our homework. I consider that within ten years, I told it a year ago – within ten years – that it is the time that if we go quickly and qualitatively, we will be able to meet standards, which will allow us to enter EU. However, it is difficult for us to work in it”, the Prime Minister emphasized.
According to him, the first task, which Ukraine is facing, is to have profession competent authorities and state administration system.
Previously Groisman claimed that EU decision on the visa-free regime with Ukraine will be approved in June.
