The national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom plans to complete the scheduled repair and launch the third power unit on February 17, General Inspector and Security Director of Rivne NPP Danko Bilei said during the Anti-crisis Energy Staff meeting, according to Finance.UA materials.
“As of today, two blocks undergo scheduled repairs. On February 17, we will be ready to connect the Rivne third power unit to the system”, Bilei said, adding that currently Energoatom produces 57% of the total electrical energy in Ukraine.
As reported, as of February 13, 13 out of 15 power units of nuclear power plants of Ukraine undergo repair works. The power unit №2 of South Ukrainian NPP – 81 days of medium scheduled repairs. The power unit №3 of Rivne NPP – 111 days of capital scheduled repair. According to the data of Energoatom, on February 12, Ukraine’s NPPs produced 268.35 million kWt-h of electrical energy.
Note. Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) is located in the northwest of the Rivne region in Varash.
RNPP operates four electric power units with the total capacity of 2.835 MWt: block №1 (WWER-440) with the capacity of 420 thousand kWt since 1980, block №2 (WWER-440) with the capacity of 415 thousand kWt since 1981, block №3 (WWER-1000) with the capacity of 1 mln kWt since 1986, block №4 (WWER-1000) with the capacity of 1 million kWt since 2004.
