Since the beginning of the year over 1.5 million declarations filed

In the first half 2013 Customs Services formalized 1.5 million declarations, 83% in electronic form, the Revenue Ministry’s press service informs.

At such trends, preparing an export customs declaration takes average 44 min, import declaration – 1 hr 42 min.

Introduction of electronic declaration procedure is convenient for business thanks to accelerated goods turnover, reduced time and money costs of entrepreneurs on customs procedures.

Google Translate learns to recognize and translate handwriting

Google announced that, as an experiment, Google Translate service is supplemented with a tool for handwriting text input. You draw out the characters on the main panel of the handwriting tool, and see the translation at once; besides, the service will adjust to user handwriting, RBC-Ukraine reports.

So far the new function is far from perfect and focuses primarily on European and US users visiting countries in Asia or Middle East and not familiar with their writing system.

Handwriting input system comes in handy when a user's PC does not support the keyboard language from which you want to translate a certain word or phrase.

"Handwriting input system allows to translate a written expression, even if you do not know how to type the symbols", Google explains. Currently the translation system works mainly with Asian language groups.

Google boasts they have been working on Handwriting input system for almost a year. At the moment handwriting input feature is supported only by Google Translate Android client, in future the support will become universal.
