Ukraine should pay USD 12.5 bln on the external and internal debt in 2017-2019, NBU Deputy Governor Oleg Churii told on ZIK channel, Ukrainian News reports.
Churii noted that the cooperation with the International Monetary Fund is crucial for continuing structural reforms in Ukraine as well as for replenishment of international reserves.
“In 2017-2019, Ukraine should make payments on the principal amount of the loan as well as on the servicing of external and internal state debt, denominated in currency, amounting to around USD 12.5 bln”, he told.
Responding to the question about the wording of the Memorandum on the Economic and Financial Policy, which was already signed by the Ukrainian party and delivered to IMF, Churii emphasized that according to the internal regulations of the fund, this document is confidential until it is approved by the Board of Governors.
In accordance with the procedure, established by IMF, the Ukrainian party should officially give consent to the publication of this memorandum.
Currently, all the signatories to the memorandum, including the National Bank, gave consent to its publication.
Thus, the memorandum was published upon the approval of IMF Board of Directors.
As reported, the National Bank assesses the necessity that Ukraine pays the external debts, amounting to USD 2.5 bln, in 2017.
