The deferral of allocation of one billion tranche to Ukraine from the International Monetary Fund will not impact the hryvnia rate, the Minister of Finance reports.
“IMF as the lender should understand which impact the blockade will have on the budget. This is the financial tool of the state and is very important for the IMF”, Danyliuk said.
The Minister hopes that the estimates regarding the impact of the blockade on the budget of Ukraine, required for IMF, will be completed in several days, Finance.ua reports.
“Currently, it is merely additional information for IMF Board of Governors, which will be represented by Ukraine’s delegate and the head of mission”, Danyliuk told.
He made clear that the tranche deferral is in the interests of Ukraine, because the state should provide the most accurate information to IMF Board of Governors during the tranche allocation.
“The couple of days will not impact the hryvnia rate anyhow”, the Minister of Finance reports.
As reported, IMF Board of Governors postponed the consideration of completion of the Extended Financing Facility program for Ukraine to estimate the effects of the blockade.
IMF has not determined yet when the meeting, dedicated to the question of Ukraine, will be held.
