The Sberbank of Russia sold its Ukrainian “subsididary” at about 130 million dollars.
The amount of the transaction on sale of Ukrainian “subsidiary” of Sberbank was a bit less than its capital – about 130 million dollars, Kommersant daily reported quoting its sources, Correspondent.net reports.
“It refers to about 130 million dollars. It is consistent with the capital of Ukrainian Sberbank PJSC, which, according to the international reports for January- September 2016, is USD 144 million. The purchaser will receive all the funds, according to the sources, after the sales and purchase agreement becomes effective”, the newspaper reports.
The interlocutors of the edition told that Sberbank conducted negotiations with these investors from late 2016. The initially claimed amount of the transaction was large; but the sanctions against Russian banks, imposed by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in mid-March, as well as the blocking of branch offices by activists in different cities of Ukraine affected the price.
It should be reminded that on March 27, Sberbank announced about the sale of its Ukrainian subsidiary to the consortium of investors, consisting of Latvian Norvik Banka and Belarussian private company. Said Gutseriev, the son of the famous Russian businessman and the owner of the petroleum company Rosneft Mikhail Guzeriev, became the majority shareholder of the consortium.
