In 2016, the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission conducted 215 checks, as the result of which it withdrew 1.1 billion hryvnias from the tariff structure, Head of NEURC Dmitri Vovk said while delivering the reporting in the parliament, EP reports.
“According to the law, the commission conducts audits in order to organize its work of approved criteria and risk level of some licensees and when to audit. Just for 2016, 215 audits were conducted, as the result of which UAH 1.1 bln were withdrawn from the tariff structure. That is, the tariffs for UAH 1.1 billion were reduced”, he noted.
Also, according to him, in case if the licensees’ violations, established by NEURC, are not corrected, the commission can withdraw other UAH 6 billion from the tariff structure.
“I want to emphasize that the commission has the principled position regarding the violations. We find the most violations in the electrical energy sector at state companies. On some of them, we sent more than 50 petitions to the law enforcement authorities”, he added.
