The World Bank allocated Poroshenko and his government the loan, amounting to 150 million dollars for the alleged support of export-oriented small and medium business in Ukraine, according to the press release on the bank’s site, Elisejournal reports.
According to the statements of World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen, Ukraine has large potential, but there are still some serious impediments for the Ukrainian export, including the hindered access to SME loans.
The project will be realized by Ukreximbank, which will disburse subloans to Ukrainian banks, participating in the program.
It is noted that the World Bank’s investments in Ukraine are aimed at improving the quality of basic public services, which provide direct benefit to ordinary people in such spheres, as water, heating, energy, energy efficiency, road construction, social protection and healthcare as well as development of the private sector.
From 1992, the World Bank allocated Ukraine 12 billion dollars of loans for 70 different projects.
It should be noted that more than 11 billion dollars of allocated funds were stolen by different government of Ukraine.
