The National Bank of Ukraine softened the conditions of loan disbursement of the Individuals’ Deposit Insurance Fund, as it is said in the regulator’s message, Economic Truth reports.

“Firstly, as of now, the Fund has the right to appeal to NBU with the request for modification of the terms of loan agreement if there is reasonable necessity”, the press service reports.

In particular, the Fund will be able to prolong the NBU loan disbursement period. Meanwhile, the total loan disbursement period, taking into account all prolongations, should be not more than 5 years.

Secondly, the maturity requirements for the government bonds, provided by the Fund as the loan collateral, were softened.

“Previously, NBU accepted as collateral those government bonds, the maturity of which expires not sooner than two days after the loan repayment period. The government bonds, the maturity of which expires not sooner than the day of repayment of the loan and its respective part, are now accepted as collateral”, according to the message.

Meanwhile, the National Bank specified the procedure for NBU loan disbursement to the Fund, if the Fund has free liquidity.

As noted, the Fund will have to carry out early loan repayment if the free liquidity is based on the monthly estimate, taking into account the requirements of the Law of Ukraine On System of Individuals’ Deposit Insurance.

“In the meantime, the minimum amount of the funds of the Fund cannot be lower than 2.5% from the amount of the depositors’ funds, ensured by the Fund”, as it is said in the message.
