The administration of seaports of Ukraine (ASU) jointly with WB experts started working on updating the strategy of development of seaports until 2038, according to the press office of AMCU, Delo reports.
As reported, the WB delegation already started the joint work with relevant ministries and companies as well as visited some ports of Ukraine to study the situation locally.
The strategy envisages the change of the port management model, in particular, the application of landlord model principles, strengthening of specialization of ports, implementation of new mechanisms of attraction of investments in the port industry.
In addition, the plans of development of infrastructure of each port (bottom dredging, modernization of railroads, quays) will be revised based on the analysis of current and potential cargo flows, taking into account the new aspects of the policy of calculation of port charges.
ASU emphasized that the World Bank’s technical assistance is the donor project. The first insights into the strategy are planned to be presented in two months.
The updated strategy of development of seaports until 2038 within the medium-term perspective will be correlated with the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine until 2030.
