5 km road in Crimea to be repaired for 89.4 million UAH
International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) allocated 89.4 million UAH for reconstruction of 5 km of Kharkiv-Simferopol-Alushta-Yalta highway on the site Perevalne - Angarsk pass, the press service of the Crimean Republican Committee on Transport and Communications informs, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
According to the head of the Road Service in the Crimean AR Valentyn Zavoychynsky, the project for traffic management provides for up to four lanes (roadway will expand from 9 to 14 meters), which will reduce accidents on the road and facilitate the movement of trolleybus transport. During the works 241 towers of trolleybus contact systems will be relocated, 179 road signs and 6.8 miles of barrier protection installed.
Repairs are carried out within the framework of the investment project «Improvement of roads and traffic safety».
Currently, the State Agency of roads of Ukraine is completing negotiations with the World Bank for supplementing the current draft of the road: to extend road repairs straight to the Angarsk pass. The decision will be adopted in September 2013; in the long run the same source might finance repair of this road up to Yalta.
