The Swiss energy trader MET Holding AG decided to sell natural gas on the internal market of Ukraine, as evidenced by the data of Ukrtransgas, Liga.net reports.
MET Holding AG registered in Ukraine the subsidiary company MET Ukraine (Kyiv) for operations with natural gas.
MET Holding AG is the holding company of MET Group, which sells energy resources in certain countries of Europe. The company started gas supplies from Europe in late 2014. Last year, the subsidiary company of the group – MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG – supplied about 20 mln cubic meters of gas to Ukraine.
Its clients include Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, the First Energy Company and others.
40% MET Holding AG belongs to the large Hungarian company MOL, which has already been working for long on the Ukrainian market. MOL’s Manager Benjamin Lashatoshu owns 24% of MET Holding. Hungarian businesspersons Nadia Dierdia and Ishtwana Goronchi own 10% and 12% respectively. Ilia Trubnikov also owns 12% of the company’s capital.
According to MET’s site, the company will also sell electrical energy, oil and oil products. The company provided the first gas supplies on the internal market in December 2016.
As reported, such companies, as Engie, Trafigura, Trailstone GmbH, Shell, are already on the Ukrainian gas market.
