Prysiazhniuk promises help
In 2013, farmers will receive almost 28 million UAH of state aid. And to help agricultural producers use these funds during the whole year, they will be allocated at the beginning of the fiscal year. This decision was approved by the government, the press service of the Agriculture Ministry reports.
According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk, in the future these changes will allow to increase the number of farms and their effectiveness.
«The Cabinet has adopted the Resolution by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, which improves the current procedure for using the funds from the state budget to support farmers. While previously the money was allocated only in the 2nd half of the year, which violated the requirements of the Budget Code, now farmers are able to use the funds throughout the year», Prysiazhniuk said.
According to the Minister, the government offers interest-free loans to farmers for production, processing, marketing of products, purchase of machinery and equipment, construction and rehabilitation of livestock buildings, planting perennial crops, irrigation and land reclamation and renovation of working capital.
«On average, each farming enterprise receives over 100 thousand UAH from the state, which can be used for their production needs. In 3 years of such support, we can already see the results - the average size of farm holdings increased by 8 hectares and is about 108 hectares. So it is important that the Government continues this support», the Minister stated.
