The National Bank of Ukraine wants to deprive PWC of the right to audit Ukrainian banks and will request the Audit Chamber to ban PWC from providing auditing services in Ukraine, FinClub reports.
“On June 26, the Bank Audit Committee plans to ban PWC from conducting the audit of banks”, according to the article.
As reported, the reason for such decision of the National Bank is the PWC’s audit opinion on PrivatBank’s report for 2015, which did not show any problems in the bank, which led to the bankruptcy.
It is noted that Head of NBU Bank Audit Committee and NBU Deputy Governor Katerina Rozhkova will send a petition to the Audit Chamber for removal of PWC from the register of audit firms and auditors and the revocation of certificates of the auditors of its banks.
It should be reminded that the company has five auditors of the bank, and its five-year certificate expires on September 17.
