The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine did not approve the raise of gas rates, included in the Naftogaz’ financial plan.
The respective decision was approved at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 19, EP reports.
The financial plan of Naftogaz NJSC, which suggested raising gas rates, was approved at the government session with a substantial amendment.
“There is suggestion, when we approve this Naftogaz plan together with the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Finance, to correct the revenues of the financial plan for 2017 in compliance with actual prices for 1 April 2017”, Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv noted.
The financial plan was approved namely with such suggestions.
It should be reminded that Naftogaz draft financial plan suggested increasing thousands of cubic meters of gas, exclusive of VAT, by 931 hryvnias – up to UAH 5,873. That means that if VAT inclusive, it should amount to UAH 7,047 or 7.047 for a cubic meter.
The current prices, set for the period, starting from 1 April 2017 until 1 April 2018, for the population, is UAH 6,957. Thus, the gas price for the population could increase by almost 19%.
