Ukraine and Israel ended one more round of negotiations regarding the free trade area, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade – Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mikolska said in Facebook, EP reports.
“Today, we are one step closer to creation of one free trade area. We completed one more round of negotiations. The negotiations were very intense and difficult, but we managed to enter the home stretch”, she wrote.
According to Mikolska, it is important that FTA creates new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters.
“That is why we aim to ensure duty-free access to a larger number of agricultural and industrial goods on Israeli market”, the trade representative noted.
“For us, it is also important that FTA works out for participation of Ukrainian business in global chains of added value within the context of Israel’s participation in Regional pan-Euro-Mediterranean Convention about preferential rules of origin, especially in trade with EU”, she added.
Previously, the Israeli government stated that the work on the text of agreement on free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and Israel will be completed in the nearest future.
It should be reminded that during independence years, Ukraine concluded 16 agreements about free trade, which cover 45 countries.
