The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) disburses Novus Ukraine a loan, amounting to $25 mln for seven years to support the expansion of Novus network, EBRD’s press office reported, Finance.UA reports quoting Interfax-Ukraine.
“The loan will be targeted at financing the expansion of Novus network, which intends to open a new logistic center by late 2018 and ten new shops in Kyiv and Kyiv region”, according to the bank message on Thursday.
In addition, according to the information of the press office of the bank, Novus will obtain a grant for $0.5 mln from the EBRD’s FINTECC (Finance and Technology Transfer Centre for Climate Change) for supporting energy-saving technologies. “In particular, the LED lighting, the improved management systems, the air and water heat regeneration, natural air-cooling systems and many other improvements will be installed in all Novus supermarkets”, EBRD explains in its press release.
The project is the component of EBRD’s strategy, which contributes to investments in the development of storage, transportation and distribution infrastructure as well as modernization of processing of the food and agricultural products in Ukraine, according to the message.
