The Minister of Finance is optimistic about the cooperation with IMF.
Ukraine expects to obtain two tranches from the largest lender of the International Monetary Fund, Minister of Finance Alexander Danyliuk said on Tuesday, December 19, Correspondent.net reports.
“The National Bank counts on two tranches from IMF. I hope that we will obtain more; it is absolutely realistic”, he said during the closing press conference of the Ministry of Finance in Kyiv on Tuesday.
According to Danyliuk, you need to successfully complete the current EFF program and then start discussing a new program.
“We target at the indicators of the National Bank, but I do not see why we cannot obtain more. My position as the minister is that we need to successfully complete this program. It will be time when we may discuss a new program, but now, it is not time”, he said.
Previously, NBU claimed that the termination of IMF program is the key macroeconomic risk for Ukraine.
