No retirement at 55 for women

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not support the bill № 2934 «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the definition of terms of pension provision of citizens». For this decision voted 216 deputies (of 226 required), against - 0, refrained - 24 MPs, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Bill № 2934 proposes to entitle women to retire at 55 years and removes restrictions on pensioners' rights to consideration when calculating the pension of wages for any 60 calendar months of pensionable service in succession to the period 1 July 2000 to 1 January 2016.

The document also provides for the use in calculation of pension and its recalculation due to additional work record the average wage per insured person in the whole of Ukraine for the year preceding the year of application for pension.

In addition, the bill offers to reduce the size of pensionable service required to appoint a pension for disability and restores the right to recalculation of pension for working pensioners due to the increased subsistence minimum for people who lost working capacity.

It is also provided to establish for individuals who due to achieving the age of 35 years not eligible to the payment of insurance premiums to Accumulation Pension Fund the insurance period required to appoint an old age pension - 5 years, and the insurance period, which entitling to receive the minimum old age pension as 20 years for women and 25 years for men. For those who have not reached 35 years, and can foresee for themselves accumulating funds, the insurance period, required to appoint a pension by age is set at 15 years as the insurance period, which gives the right to receive the minimum pension by age - 30 years for women and 35 years for men.

It is also proposed to introduce a pension modernization after two years from the date of appointment, taking into account the average salary for three calendar years preceding the year of recalculation.
